Software development for embedded systems has a lot of dependencies on the hardware of the system. To possibly reduce the lead time and ease the development process, an emulated model is investigated. This model is examined in terms of how it fits in the platform transition, daily development and testing processes at Axis. The results indicate that an emulated model is a powerful tool for a softwa
Multi-storey wood buildings have been increasing in popularity since a century-old ban on the construction of such buildings was lifted in 1994. Compared to conventional concrete structures, it is more difficult to build lightweight structures in such a way that noise and disturbing vibrations is avoided. To design buildings of high performance regarding sound and vibrations, it is desirable to ha
III-V semiconductors have attractive transport properties suitable for low-power, high-speed complementary metal oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) implementation, but major challenges related to cointegration of III-V n- and p-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) on low-cost Si substrates have so far hindered their use for large scale logic circuits. By using a novel approach
This thesis examines transnational adaptations of television crime drama between the United Kingdom and the United States. This is accomplished by looking at the case of Broadchurch (ITV, 2013), a complex crime drama series that was adapted from Britain into America as Gracepoint (FOX, 2014). The research explores the themes of cultural adaptation, characterization, and sense of place in both seri
Swedish cities are under constant development, and this also applies to the city of Lund. To maintain its rich cultural heritage, modernization is conducted in harmony with preservation of the city. The historical structure of the city, with narrow cobblestone streets causes some difficulties in terms of accessibility for the traffic. As the transports to the center of Lund constitutes a strain on
The transport sector is one of many markets facing new challenges in the pursuit of reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The people at Volvo Powertrain in Malmö are continuously working to develop new and improved techniques that are able to live up to the ever-increasing legislations. A well performing turbocharger is an essential part of the combustion engine in order to reduce the fuel consumption
This paper deals with future commitments to transfer immovable property and especially compensation clauses connected to the commitment. Future commitments to transfer immovable property has no legal effect, a party can not enforce transfer. Nor can a party be required to pay damages. A party that wants to put pressure on its counterpart can induce a special commitment to replace possible damages.
This thesis will explore the theme of masculinity in Boyz n the Hood (John Singleton 1991) through a film analysis, from the perspective of two theoretical concepts by bell hooks regarding the studies of masculinity and race. These include Black Looks: Race and Representation and We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity. This essay will also contain a discussion regarding the concept of “Black
The objective of this project was to design a casual dinner chair for smaller cafes and restaurants that prioritize locally produced ingredients and want to reflect that in their interior design. The aim was to use locally sourced materials from southern Sweden, integrate design and construction to simplify the manufacturing process, and reduce material waste. Additionally, the distribution of the
This master’s thesis has examined the feasibility of an accumulator-based actuation method for the BorgWarner (BW) electric torque vectoring and disconnect (eTVD) system. The requirements for the proposed concepts were defined based on the performance of the baseline eTVD and served as reference criteria throughout the development process. A strong emphasis was placed on reducing system complexit
In order to increase Power Amplifier (PA) linearity and efficiency in the transmission chain wireless communication systems, Digital Front-End (DFE) functions such as Crest Factor Reduction (CFR), Hard Limiter (HL) and Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) are typically built and adjusted independently. Despite the effectiveness of this modular strategy, it does result in a high hardware footprint. The use
