Additionally, there is an assessment of whether there is reason to revise Sweden’s regulations considering Denmark’s approach. Landlords in both Denmark and Sweden use security deposits as a tool to protect themselves against the economic damage

A model is used to describe a system physically or mathematically and to give information about changes in the system variables. Physical knowledge about the system and its quantities can be useful to build a physical model obeying the laws of nature. However, if the system is to be regarded as a black box with only input and output signals, system identification can be used to fit a mathematical

Ett av de mest inflytelserika tillvägagångssAs society evolves, so do our perceptions of external beauty. With today's media, we are constantly exposed to different values associated with body and appearance, which means that more and more individuals are excluded by the almost unattainable standards that are created. This isolation risks leading to serious physical and mental health problems. One of the most influential ways for commu

In a phase of instability during the dynamical evolution of some multiple exoplanetary systems, exchange of angular momentum and/or energy through gravitational interactions between planets will lead to alterations of their orbital properties. In some cases, planetary orbits end up crossing, which leads to close encounters between two planets. In turn, they undergo a planet--planet scattering even

To encounter the ambiguity of the contemporary understanding of neighborhood, we must fundamentally view the concept from a broad historical and global perspective. A neighborhood should be understood as an organism; this whole organism is alive, constantly changing, and its structure is fluid. The way people live and create community has changed with all the social and technological changes in th

The building industry, like many others, are currently experiencing the effects of the digitalization, and the increased spread of smart buildings is a result of this. Much research has been done on smart buildings and their predecessors intelligent buildings, but there is limited research available on how entrance systems should be designed for smart buildings, especially regarding their connecte

In the construction industry there are increasingly higher requirements to reduce the environmental impact and production costs as well as improve the work environment and construction logistics. To meet these new requirements, new production methods are needed. Studies have shown, ready-to-use construction materials can be used in order to improve the environmental impact and the work en

The self-screening error in the GW approximation is studied by applying correction schemes beyond the random-phase approximation in model and ab inito calculations. Two model systems in the form of Hubbard dimers, with one and two orbitals per site respectively, are considered. Both the self-screening (GW-ss) and self-polarization (GW-sp) correction schemes are compared to ordinary GW calculations

This study aimed to create an understanding of how children within Jehovah’s Witnesses have gotten their emotional needs met during their childhood. We also wanted to study if there was a correlation between men and women and the attitude of needing emotional support. If history is presented without analysing it through a gender perspective, it risks perpetuating outdated and harmful gender patterns. Working

In the field of dendrochronology, scientists work with the process of ordering different trees in time by using their annual tree ring width (TRW). The TRW data are logged in time series and cross-dated with each other to find out in which period of time they both were alive. The two TRW series are then conjoined by taking the average of their ring widths in each overlapping year, and this can be

Cybersecurity has never been more relevant than it is today, as attacks become increasingly sophisticated. To keep devices safe from threats, a new type of smart firewall has become an active area of research. This type of firewall can dynami- cally configure itself based on incoming network traffic using reinforcement learn- ing. This research has shown promising results; however, its impact on r
