Organisatoriskt motsvarar Epilepsicentrum en avdelning under IKVL och består av tre forskargrupper; Experimentell Epilepsi, Cellulär Neurofysiologi och Epilepsi, samt Molekylär Neurofysiologi och Epilepsi. Till skillnad från en traditionell avdelning består Epilepsicentrum även av associerade forskargrupper som tillsammans utgör en gemensam plattform för initiering och utveckling av nya projekt
Profilområdet ska befästa och utveckla Lunds universitets ställning som ett unikt nav för tvärvetenskaplig forskning och utbildning om mänskliga rättigheter. Området tar upp globala utmaningar som rör växande ojämlikheter mellan fattiga och rika, flykt- och migrationsrörelser, ohälsa, klimatkrisen, konflikter och ny teknik.

SI hjälper studenter att lyckas på utvalda, ofta inledande, svåra kurser. Under ett SI-pass samarbetar studenter under ledning av en äldre student.
