Benchmarking an engineering model to estimate hot gas layer interface height

An engineering model for estimating hot gas layer height is presented. The model is based on several sub-models, thus necessitating benchmarking against experimental data. Results from the model are compared to data from three different series of enclosure fire tests. The results indicate a strong correlation between the proposed model and the experimental observations, with an average error of leAn engineering model for estimating hot gas layer height is presented. MPC Feed-Forward for Constraint Handling

In a mineral concentrator, ore is milled and later separated into concentrate and tailing by a process called flotation. When a milling line abruptly stops, a significant inflow disturbance to the downstream flotation series is often observed. To avoid de-tuning the flotation level controller to handle the worst case scenario, we introduce a feed-forward model predictive controller (MPC) that cons

To show but not tell : formalism as means to rearrange and destabilize memories of 1970s feminist art

Over the last decades, a body of feminist research (Angkjær Jørgensen & Åsebø 2020-2025, Freeman 2010, Halberstam 2022, Hemmings 2011, Tesfagiorgis 1993) has problematized established stories that chronicle the development of Western feminist movements’ recent past. Realization of MIMO-SLSs from Markov Parameters via Forward/Backward Corrections

This paper serves as a first identification step in a two-step model-based control synthesis problem of switched linear systems (SLSs). More precisely, we present an algorithm that addresses the realization of the multi-input/multi-output MIMO-SLSs from Markov parameters under mild assumptions on the dwell-times and the submodels. A key point of the proposed approach is the introduction of the for

Building services and adaptive reuse : An overview of the regulations and potential in Swedish context

Adaptive reuse of buildings, repurposing existing structures for new functions, is gaining attention for its potential in sustainable development and optimisation of building materials usage. This practice is particularly relevant in the building sector, where space heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems represent a significant portion of project costs, embodied energy, greenhou
