Twisted finite-volume corrections to Kl3 decays with partially-quenched and rooted-staggered quarks
The determination of |Vus| from kaon semileptonic decays requires the value of the form factor f+(q2 = 0) which can be calculated precisely on the lattice. We provide the one-loop partially quenched chiral perturbation theory expressions both with and without including the effects of staggered quarks for all form factors at finite volume and with partially twisted boundary conditions for both the
Dynamics modeling and modal experimental study of high speed motorized spindle
This paper presents a dynamical model of high speed motorized spindles in free state and work state. In the free state, the housing is modeled as a rotor with equivalent masses including bearing pedestals, motor stator and rear end cover. As a consequence, a double rotor dynamics can be modeled for high speed motorized spindles by a bearing element which connects the housing and bearing pedestals.
Triggering necroptosis in cisplatin and IAP antagonist-resistant ovarian carcinoma
Ovarian cancer patients are typically treated with carboplatin and paclitaxel, but suffer a high rate of relapse with recalcitrant disease. This challenge has fostered the development of novel approaches to treatment, including antagonists of the 'inhibitor of apoptosis proteins' (IAPs), also called SMAC mimetics, as apoptosis-inducing agents whose action is opposed by caspase inhibitors. The Features of a Survey on the Export Decisions of Swedish Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
This paper presents the features of a survey on Swedish firms’ export decisions conducted in February 2015 focusing on a sample of 10,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. The survey was divided into two major sections. The first section targeted all firms and focused on firms’ general situation (e.g. competition, type of co-operations, etc.). The second section focused on firms’ export decision
Facts in the Law : A Legal Positivistic Conception of the Law/Fact Distinction
This thesis concerns the law/fact distinction in law. The interest it takes in the distinction is not practical, but conceptual. It more specifically concerns the questions: “What is it that is conceptually assumed about something when it is categorized as ‘of law’ or ‘of fact’?” and “What is conceptually assumed about the law when law is distinguished from fact by the use of the law/fact distinctThis thesis concerns the law/fact distinction in law. Doubling the spectrum of time-domain induced polarization: removal of non-linear self-potential drift, harmonic noise and spikes, tapered gating, and uncertainty estimation
This paper presents an advanced signal processing schemefor time-domain induced polarization full waveform data. The scheme includes several steps with an improvedinduced polarization (IP) response gating design usingconvolution with tapered windows to suppress highfrequency noise, a logarithmic gate width distribution foroptimizing IP data quality and an estimate of gatinguncertainty. Distribution of bleomycin in a rat model
Bleomycin has, in the years of developing electrochemotherapy (ECT), proven to be an extremely potent drug for this cancer treatment modality and is also the most frequently applied chemical agent. It is of importance to investigate the pharmacokinetics of bleomycin under normal conditions and particularly in combination with ECT.
Large Scale IP Survey at Önneslöv in Southern Sweden
A DCIP survey, i.e. a geoelectrical survey with combinedmeasurement of DC resistivity and induced polarization(IP), was conducted in southern Sweden. The purposewas to identify soil depth and bedrock structures andvariations in rock quality.Data were acquired data with 100% waveform fromwhich IP of good quality data were extracted. Theinverted model sections show a wide variation in theelectrical
Treatment of rat glioma with electrochemotherapy
The first attempt to apply electrochemotherapy (ECT) to the brain was reported in 1993 by Salford et al. 1993 (1). They managed to significantly prolong the survival of RG2 glioma bearing Fischer-344 rats by 200% by iv administration of bleomycin followed by intracranial electrochemotherapy with exponential decaying pulses. In collaboration with the department of tumor immunology, Lund University,

Bacterial Pathogenesis : Methods and Protocols
This volume discusses various methods and protocols used for the experimentation of a wide range of bacterial species, such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumonia, Listeria monocytogenes, and Mycobacterium marinum. Bacterial Pathogens: Methods and Protocols is divided into 6 parts: Part 1 describes different approaches to identifying and characterizing bacterial
Quality assessment of digital X-ray chest images using an anthropomorphic chest phantom
The current study is focused on determining the optimal tube voltage for the conventional X-ray digital chest screening examinations, using a visual grading analysis method. Chest images of an anthropomorphic phantom were acquired in posterior-anterior projection on four digital X-ray units with different detector types. X-ray images obtained with an anthropomorphic phantom were accepted by the ra
Computational sensitivity study of spray dispersion and mixing on the fuel properties in a gas turbine combustor
A swirl stabilized gas turbine burner has been simulated in order to assess the effects of the fuel properties on spray dispersion and fuel-air mixing. The properties under consideration include fuel surface tension, viscosity and density. The turbulence of the gas phase is modeled applying the methodology of large eddy simulation whereas the dispersed liquid phase is described by Lagrangian parti
