Hjärtfrekvensvariabilitet Mätt med Kontrollerad Andning

Heart rate variability (HRV) is a measure of the variation in the time intervals between heartbeats. HRV can provide insights into the condition of the heart as well as the state and interaction of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. HRV can be measured over shorter periods (5 minutes) or longer periods (up to 24 hours). Similar to pulse, HRV is linked to respiratory rate. During

Transformation mess to transformation success!

In today's fast-paced business environment, organizations need to adapt and improve their ways of working to keep up with competitors. This change is putting more pressure on Human Resources (HR) and their ability to implement transformation projects to become more efficient, automated, and data-driven. Organizations invest enormous amounts of resources to implement these HR transformation pro

Using Instagram in participatory visual methods - limitations of the platform

Interviews where photographs taken by the respondent are used in order to stimulate the conversation and to gain rich empirical material are increasingly employed by researchers. The ubiquitous use of mobile cameras and digital platforms such as Instagram has made it easier for the researcher as well as for the interviewees to take and share photographs. Ventifacts and wind deflation surfaces in context with glaciofluvial sediment successions in southern Sweden – their age and implication for glacial history

Recent suggestions propose that the glacial landscape in southern Sweden is primarily a relict from the Saalian glaciation (>130 ka). The arguments for this standpoint are the assertion that the majority of glaciofluvial deposits in this region are till-covered, and that wind-abraded clasts are observed at the contact between glaciofluvial sediments and till at numerous locations. Furthermore, it

Asymptomatic Bacteriuria. Protection against, and differential diagnosis towards symptomatic Urinary Tract Infection.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are among the most common infectious diseases in humans, with a subset of susceptible individuals who experience recurrent episodes. The increase in antibiotic resistance in gram-negative uropathogens, due to antibiotic overuse, is a strong rationale for developing therapeutic alternatives and to improve diagnostics. Reducing bias in dual flip angle T1-mapping in human brain at 7T

Purpose: To address the systematic bias in whole-brain dual flip angle (DFA) T1-mapping at7T by optimizing the flip angle pair and carefully selecting RF pulse shape and duration.Theory and Methods: Spoiled gradient echoes can be used to estimate whole-brain maps ofT1. This can be accomplished by using only two acquisitions with different flip angles, i.e., aDFA-based approach. Decolonial Translations and Embodied Methodologies: Thinking through Agua-Cuerpo-Territorio/Water-Body-Territory

19 augusti 2025 15:00 till 17:00 | Föreläsning This talk explores the role of decolonial and critical geographies of translation in shaping methodologies that center the body. I focus on the bilingual concept agua-cuerpo-territorio / water-body-territory to examine how bodily autonomy—both individual and collective—is articulated in relation to aquatic space. The talk positions this concept within

Visualizing Asian Cities Photo Contest

The Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies announces a photo contest for students enrolled at Lund University. Asian cities are vibrant and diverse places that reflect unique histories at the same time as they are undergoing rapid changes.  The cities are however often depicted in rather stereotypical fashion in media so the challenge is to explore and visualize cities through images that sh

Single-cell Sequencing of Acute Leukemia

Acute leukemia affects individuals of all ages and encompasses a heterogeneous group of malignancies driven by genetic alterations that give rise to leukemia stem cells (LSCs), which sustain self-renewal and drive the expansion of abnormal cells. Based on how these alterations affect maturation, acute leukemia is classified into acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Advanced Detection and Monitoring System for JBT Marel’s GyroCompact

The food processing industry is integral to modern society, with increasing demands for efficiency and sustainability. Industrial food freezers, such as the JBT Marel’s GyroCompact spiral freezer, are energy-intensive systems operating for extended durations daily, making energy efficiency improvements critical both economically and environmentally. This thesis aims to develop a vision-based monit

Harnessing the microbiomes of water treatment and distribution for cleaner water

Many water treatment processes used to improve the quality of drinking- and wastewater directly or indirectly affect, or are affected by, the activity of microbes. These activities can improve water quality, presenting sustainable alternatives to mechanical or chemical processes. As water is distributed, it is also changed by microbes.
