A report by Michael Calner, as well as comments on the report by CEC, was recently discussed in the faculty leadership group (“ledningsrådet”). A short summary of that meeting is that the faculty leadership as well as the h

Scaling up uncertain environmental evidence

A sustainable City of Växjö: A study in policy-making
Starting out from the neo-pluralistic theory and advocacy coalition framework, this study has an ambition to identify which theory may explain the sustainable development in the City of Växjö. The first mentioned theory stipulates that business groups affect the policy by for instance lobbying politicians. The latter one focuses on the fact that actors create coalitions in order to impose their id
Attachment organization and perception of constraining and enabling factors in long distance relationships: A first step towards constructing an instrument to measure experiences of living in a long distance relationship
Living in long distance relationships (LDRs) has become a common phenomenon worldwide. LDR couples continously move in and out of each other's co-presence, and research has shown that the transitions between togetherness and separateness give rise to factors experienced as both constraining and enabling. The present study extends LDR-research done by Sahlstein (2004) by taking attachment organ
Emigration and Labour Market Outcomes in the CEE EU Member States: A Closer Look
This paper analyses the effects of emigration on unemployment and wages in the ten Central and Eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004 and 2007. These countries experi-enced large migration outflows following their accession and thus lost a considerable share of their labour force. This presents a good natural experiment to study the impact of emigration on the labour market outcomes

Rural Arguments : Four perspectives in Swedish Political Debate
Rural perspectives in political debates are often dismissed as sentimental, narrowly self-interested, and irrational. This paper reports findings that challenge this view. Applying a deliberative systems approach, it examines how rural perspectives are articulated in Swedish public discourse. It identifies four coherent discourses that promote distinct political values: economic growth, rural cons

What goes up must come down - Modelling economic consequences of wind turbine decommissioning
At the time being there is limited experience within turbine decommissioning in Sweden and the economic effects are unknown. Despite this, there are expectations that revenues generated by sales of materials will cover decommissioning costs. The model developed identifies thirteen parameters that vary between different types of turbines and that affect the economic consequences of decommissioning.
Folkparken i Lund : En bortglömd arbetarhistoria
The People’s Park in Lund was one of Sweden’s first public places owned by the labour movement. Today the park has become a municipal re creational facility and cultural centre, and the pivotal role of labour in its creation has all but completely faded. Yet despite this amnesia, urban development plans for the park have been overturned many times with references to the place’s past, which has mad
