Diabetes är en heterogen sjukdom som orsakas av en kombination av miljö och ärftliga riskfaktorer som leder till förhöjt blodsocker genom insulinresistens och/eller insulinbrist. Vi studerar alla typer av diabetes för att förstå hur sjukdomens heterogenitet påverkar sjukdomsförlopp, behandlingsrespons och risk för komplikationer. För detta ändamål använder vi stora populations- och kohortstudier, Diabetes is a heterogeneous disease defined by elevated glucose levels. It is caused by genetic and environmental risk factors that combine to cause dysregulation of glucose metabolism through insulin resistance and/or insulin deficiency. Effekter av inducerad hypotermi på hjärna och hjärta efter hjärtstillestånd Patienter i coma efter hjärtstillestånd vårdas på IVA och en majoritet behandlas med hypotermi i neuroprotektivt syfte. Hypotermins effekt på hjärtat är dåligt känd. I samarbete med sjukhusen i Malmö och Helsingborg samlar vi fortlöpande data från behandlade patienter och följer upp med återbesök hos neurolog efter 6 mån.Effects of actively induced hypothermia on the brain and the heart after cardiac arrest.
