Frågan togs upp i tidskriften The Lancet Diabetes

Obstacles and opportunities for circular fashion consumption
The clothing industry poses a sustainability challenge, and whilst the circular economy may be the solution, it is difficult to bring about a transition that suits consumers. A recently completed research project investigated consumers’ attitudes towards circular fashion consumption and the barriers to making the transition. Today’s fashion industry faces several sustainability challenges. Fast fa

Uncertainty is the new normal for shops and retailers
The areas of research remain the same, but our perspective on them has changed. This is how consumer researchers Carys Egan-Wyer and Emma Samsioe describe developments in retail research over the past ten years. "In one of our latest reports, we call it “Retail as unusual”. There is no longer a ‘normal’ state in retail, no ‘business as usual’. Everything has become more uncertain,” says Carys Egan

Skin pigment renders sun’s UV radiation harmless using projectiles
Researchers at Lund University in Sweden and other institutions have worked out how the pigment of the skin manages to protect the body from the sun’s dangerous UV rays. The skin pigment converts the UV radiation into heat through a rapid chemical reaction that shoots protons from the molecules of the pigment. In a new study, the team from Lund University, working with colleagues in France and Ita

Lack of surgeons is a threat to global health
This article is over 5 years old, and the information may therefore be outdated. Fifty per cent of all pregnant women in need of a C-section are unable to get one. Most people around the world still do not have access to safe surgery, resulting in millions of deaths and disabilities each year. As a paediatric surgeon, Lars Hagander wanted to find ways to help, and has travelled the world to perfor

Faster detection of dangerous infections
In an infection, there are tens of thousands of peptides that provide a wealth of information about which bacteria have caused the infection and how severe it is. A research team at Lund University has now combined clinical questions with mathematical methods to systematically analyze these peptides. This scientific breakthrough has the potential to transform the diagnosis and treatment of infecti
