Immigrant Film Co-Operatives in Sweden - The Most Typical Avant-Garde

The subtitle of this essay echoes the title of David E. James’s book The Most Typical Avant-Garde, which makes the claim that the various minor cinemas of Los Angeles (amateur, immigrant, artists’ etc.) constitute the most distinctive avant-garde “on behalf of cultural practices that are commonly supposed not to even have existed”. Proteomic profiling reveals novel biomarkers and pathways in yype 2 diabetes risk

Recent advances in proteomic technologies have made high throughput profiling of low abundance proteins in large epidemiological cohorts increasingly feasible. We investigated whether aptamer-based proteomic profiling could identify biomarkers associated with future development of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) beyond known risk factors. We identified dozens of markers with highly significant associations

Optogenetics for controlling seizure circuits for translational approaches

The advent of optogenetic tools has had a profound impact on modern neuroscience research, revolutionizing our understanding of the brain. These tools offer a remarkable ability to precisely manipulate specific groups of neurons with an unprecedented level of temporal precision, on the order of milliseconds. This breakthrough has significantly advanced our knowledge of various physiological and pa

Seventeen mature Wistar rats (215 g) were ovariectomized and randomized into two groups. The sedentary control group was kept cage confined, while 3 days postoperatively the trained group started treadmill running with high intensity for
