Extent of absent end-diastolic flow in umbilical artery and outcome of pregnancy

Objective: To investigate if the extent of absent end-diastolic flow (AEDF) on umbilical artery (UA) Doppler velocimetry predicts pregnancy outcome. Methods: This was a retrospective observational study based on data from 25 000 Doppler examinations of UA flow performed between 1998 and 2017 at the Blood Flow Laboratory, Level III Perinatal Center, Lund, Sweden. All pregnancies with AEDF in the UA

EPOS trial : The effect of air filtration through a plasma chamber on the incidence of surgical site infection in orthopaedic surgery: A study protocol of a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

Introduction There is controversy regarding the importance of air-transmitted infections for surgical site infections (SSIs) after orthopaedic surgery. Research has been hindered by both the inability in blinding the exposure, and by the need for recruiting large enough cohorts. The aim of this study is to investigate whether using a new form of air purifier using plasma air purification (PAP) in

Needs to consider when adapting IoMT value propositions for mixed home care

Background: Healthcare systems across the globe face challenges with staffing shortages and unsustainable expenditure, intensified by an aging population requiring more long-term care. Mixed home care, combining formal and informal care at home, is a growing market, where Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) solutions offer opportunities for efficiency and personalized care. Purpose: To identify, un

CARDIS (Cardiac ARrest DIgital Support) : study protocol for a randomised controlled trial of a web-based support intervention for cardiac arrest survivors

Background: Surviving sudden cardiac arrest often lead to long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical consequences. Although clinical guidelines recommend structured post-cardiac arrest follow-up, such follow-up is often lacking or inconsistent. Tailored digital interventions are scarce but may help address gaps in follow-up resources. The CARDIS trial evaluates the effects on patient-reported ouBackground: Surviving sudden cardiac arrest often lead to long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical consequences. A Decade Frequency Range CMOS Power Amplifier for Sub-6-GHz Cellular Terminals

A wideband 65-nm CMOS power amplifier (PA) is presented, with a decade frequency range from 600 MHz to 6.0 GHz. In this frequency range, the output power exceeds 26.6 dBm and the power gain and power-added efficiency (PAE) exceed 18.1 dB and 49%, respectively. For a 7.5-dB peak-to-average-power-ratio (PAPR) long term evolution (LTE) signal at 1.9 GHz, the circuit provides an average output power o
