Det logiska möter det (o)logiska : en analys av Gudspartikeln

År 2012 formulerade fysikern Peter W. Higgs en teori om elementarpartiklar som kan skapas ur tomma intet. Om dessa partiklar utsätts för extremt höga hastigheter uppstår det friktion som tvingar fram en ny partikel, en så kallad Higgsboson. Utifrån två elementarpartiklar kan man skapa en ny massa, materia, som inte fanns där från början. Higgsbosonsteorin fick inom media och populärkulturen smekna

Comfortably theirs: The Finns Party Members and Their Choice of Party

Klimatanpassning av förskole- och skolmiljöer

Det är i början av sommaren och solen steker, asfalten ångar av värmen. Med snabba steg springer barnen in under den stora eken och i skuggan är det svalt och skönt. Träd och buskar hjälper till att hålla temperaturen nere på gården samtidigt som det ger skugga över både gården och huset. Barnen fortsätter in bakom trädet, här finns små stigar och buskar där de brukar leka. Gården är stor, det gårIncreased average temperatures, rising sea levels and heat waves are some examples of the consequences of climate change. Cities are particularly vulnerable to climate-related events due to their structure and lack of green and blue spaces causing negative impacts on both the environment and public health. Children are one of the most sensitive groups to heat waves and they spend plenty of time in

Violent criminal recidivism in mentally disordered offenders: A follow-up study of 13-20 years through different sanctions

Objective: To describe criminal recidivism, especially violent recidivism, in a long-term follow-up of mentally disordered offenders sentenced to different types of sanctions. L2 word accent production in Swedish: An experimental study on adult learners of Swedish with non-tonal L1 background

Previous research has shown that intermediate-advanced L2 learners of Swedish with a non-tonal L1 can use word accents to predict the upcoming suffix as L1 Swedish speakers do. This was also the case of low-intermediate L2 learners who produced word accents after being instructed on the Swedish prosodic system. On the contrary, previous findings on L2 Swedish learners with a tonal L1 exhibited no

The Primacy of the "We"?

The question of the relation between the collective and the individual has had a long but patchy history within both philosophy and psychology. In this chapter we consider some arguments that could be adopted for the primacy of the we, and examine their conceptual and empirical implications. We argue that the we needs to be seen as a developing and dynamic identity, not as something that exists fu

The dark matter of the cancer genome : Aberrations in regulatory elements, untranslated regions, splice sites, non-coding RNA and synonymous mutations

Cancer is a disease of the genome caused by oncogene activation and tumor suppressor gene inhibition. Deep sequencing studies including large consortia such as TCGA and ICGC identified numerous tumor-specific mutations not only in protein-coding sequences but also in non-coding sequences. Although 98% of the genome is not translated into proteins, most studies have neglected the information hidden
