Lipoprotein receptor mediated metabolism of 14C arachidonic acid labelled chylomicron remnants by Hep G2 cells

During lipolysis of chylomicron triacylglycerol by lipoprotein lipase, arachidonic acid (AA) esters are hydrolyzed at a slower rate than the predominant 16-18 carbon fatty acid esters. The further metabolism of the AA that is hereby enriched in the chylomicron remnant acylglycerols has not been investigated. In the present study, we examined the low density lipoprotein (LDL) dependent and independ

The Case for a Broader Approach to e-Participation Research: Hybridity, Isolation and System Orientation

Two decades into the young history of e-participation research, we aim to take stock of the state of this field in the light of three developments that we argue have substantial implications for research on electronic participation:(1) dissolving boundaries between online and offline spheres of political participation;(2) academic isolation of e-participation research from other research fields re

What should we do as intellectual activists? : a comment on the ethico-political in knowledge production

This research comment makes an argument on the need to develop epistemic communities of belonging. These are spaces facilitating conversations about and enabling transformative ethico-political research. A research practice that can invoke attentiveness, responsibility, curiosity, and awareness to the field we study. Rather than answering what we should do as intellectual activists to maintain eth

Lesson enactments : Maintenance in everyday educational practice

This article explores lesson enactments as co-constitutive of human-technology relationality in everyday schooling, rather than neutral backdrops for educational activities. In doing so, the article introduces maintenance as its key concept, drawing on insights from maintenance studies and actor-network theory (ANT). Being both theoretically and empirically informed, maintenance means reconsiderinThis article explores lesson enactments as co-constitutive of human-technology relationality in everyday schooling, rather than neutral backdrops for educational activities. Population genomics of the Viking world

The maritime expansion of Scandinavian populations during the Viking Age (about ad 750–1050) was a far-flung transformation in world history1,2. Here we sequenced the genomes of 442 humans from archaeological sites across Europe and Greenland (to a median depth of about 1×) to understand the global influence of this expansion. Tissue kallikrein: pathophysiological role in acute pancreatitis

Many other enzymes may also release kinins. The aim of the study was to clarify the pathophysiological role of tissue kallikrein in acute pancreatitis. Two sensitive and specific radioimmunoassays for porcine and human tissue kallikrein were developed. A large release of tissue kallikrein from the pancreatic gland

Something is rotten in development’s garden: Neglectings, barriers and opportunities for engaging with difference in the co-creation of strategies for change

Acknowledging that development initiatives often fail to bring about the long-lasting changes envisioned, the concept of ‘participation’ has been promoted to support principles such as ownership and sustainability. Unfortunately, participatory approaches largely fail to engage in and incorporate people’s different understandings of the world. Appreciating that when engaging in these differences, d

ExempelvisIn cases of child rape, evidentiary difficulties can arise as one person’s word often stands against another’s. The courts’ primary task in these situations is to assess the reliability of the child’s oral statement. These situations are further complicated by the fact that children, according to forensic psychology research, face difficulties in presenting oral evidence of sexual abuse. For insta

A Model for the Coordination Between Gender Expression and Intelligibility Grounded in Trans Experiences

This study explored the diverse experiences of five transgender individuals during medical gender-affirmation, and captured their active and dynamic strategies for the avoidance of discrimination. The Coordination between Expression and Intelligibility Demands model was developed through informed grounded theory analysis of the data generated in semi-structured interviews. The model reflects the e
