In a first step, this thesis seeks to provide an understanding of the industry’s situation in 2007 and 2012 and what factors influence the industry with what consequences? In a second step, the aim is to analyse the resources and capabilities necessary for survival in such a fast-paced industry and how that value is created and captured. Based upon the analysis, four observations have been made.

We investigate the potential of different pre-fetching and/or caching strategies for different user behaviour with respect to surfing or browsing in a catch-up-TV network.
