Building Energy Performance Gap: Different Approaches for Mitigation

The persistent Energy Performance Gap (EPG) in buildings poses a major obstacle to achieving predicted energy savings and sustainability targets. This study provides a comprehensive review of EPG root causes and mitigation strategies across the building life cycle, encompassing the design, construction, and operation phases. Technical and soft mitigation measures were synthesized, including smart

Applying BROOK90 to model the Water Balance of the spruce forest in Hyltemossa, Sweden

This thesis evaluated the performance of the water balance model BROOK90 for an even aged spruce forest in southern Sweden. The water balance of the forest was modelled from 1950 onwards to find periods and patterns of drought. Moreover, the impact of climate change as well as thinning as a strategy to reduce drought stress on the water balance were evaluated. Hyltemossa, a managed Norway spruce f

The Sole Purpose is to Foster Student Development” The purpose of this thesis is to illustrate how four teachers work with written feedback within the subject of Swedish in the upper secondary school. To achieve the aim, two methods have been used: firstly an analysis of four teachers' written comments on student texts, secondly an interview study according to the method stimulated recall. T

Soil-atmosphere fluxes of CO2 and CH4 in annual and perennial cropping systems in southern Sweden

Annual cropping systems dominate agricultural grain production, but have been linked to several key environmental issues, such as loss of biodiversity and pollution of groundwater. Newly developed perennial grains may offer solutions to some of those problems. Their longer roots and growing seasons theoretically enable them to act as sinks of atmospheric carbon. This study set out to compare soil-
