MERGE events

MERGE hosts events and meetings to share new research and strengthen collaboration among researchers as well as between researchers and stakeholders. MERGE workshopsWorkshops are often open for a wider audience than MERGE members. Workshops serve many purposes, for exampleto update a scientific area of particular interest to MERGE to interact with stakeholders, to initiate research applications, o

Infrastructure

Ecosystem and Earth-system modelling In their research, MERGE-members often utilise research infrastructure for ecosystem and earth-system modelling, some of which are partly financed by MERGE. Some examples of the most relevant research infrastructure that is available to our researchers are listed and described below.Dynamic global vegetation modelling using LPJ-GUESS (Lund-Potsdam-Jena General

Funding instruments

As a MERGE researcher you can receive help and support for activities that strengthens your research and benefits the research area. The allocation of MERGE resources is based on an annual budget decided by the board. Some specific decisions are taken by the board, in other cases the board allocates resources to a specific task for later decision. Topics that will be given priorityPlease take thes

Interaction with society

Stakeholder interaction and outreach are central to MERGE. We work to advance transdisciplinary research, understand societal needs, and ensure that knowledge generated through climate modelling is used both within academia and beyond, providing a foundation for informed decision-making. We invite you to explore MERGE's different forms of outreach below, and welcome you to get in touch if you are
