I was born in Västra Nöbbelöv, the southernmost part of Scania in 1947 and continue to live on the same farm that I was born in. I got a Master in 1969 in and finished my Ph.D. thesis in 1978. For too many years (since 1984) I have been a professor in archaeology. I like living in the countryside, good food and wines and spending time with my grandchildren. 
The main part of my research has been aimed at Stone Age.
My interest has been aimed at the earliest settlement of Scandinavia during the deglaciation. The research interest has also involved studies of the inland-coastal settlement relations during the Mesolithic (10.000-6.000 f. Kr.). Rituals such as intentual destruction by fire is also a research interest. I have been the leader of the excavation of a large, 4000 years old passage grave in southern Portugal. The reseach also include the study of the settlement in South Africa at about 85000 years ago.
