In spring 2022 I defended my doctoral dissertation in Classical archaeology and ancient history at Lund University. The study, Greeting the visitor. A contextualising study of fauces-mosaics in Pompeii, deals with mosaic-floors in entrances, fauces, to atrium-houses in Pompeii and how this kind of floor-decoration could reflect the house-owners' self-presentation and communication with the outside world, as well as perception of the entrance as a transitional space between the outside and the inside.
My focus is on classical archaeology, and I have participated in several field excavations around the Mediterranean (Italy, Greece and Cyprus). I am also a member of the Swedish Pompeii Project (Italy) since 2006. My interest in Roman urban architecture and decoration has further led me to studies of Ostia, Rome's main harbour-town.
