Researching the bog body phenomenon and human-bog relations at the intersections of archaeology, environmental humanities, critical plant studies, posthumanism, new materialism and more-than-humanism.
Exploring the creation and perpetuation of narratives, bog bodies as a specific 'phenomenon', perceptions of the bog and human-bog relations through time.
Where the blue humanities explore waters, my research centres around a kind-of brown humanities of peat and moss, which I am calling a critical peat/bog studies. This thinking-with peat and moss aims to engage with what an anthropo(de)centric and distinctly more-than-human bog body research could look like in practice, embracing ambiguity, multivocality and multivalence.
Other interests: forensics, bryology, critical plant studies, vegetal ontologies, ethnobotany, ethics, critical theory, virtual reality, wetlands, peat, bogs
