I amprofessor of Historical Archaeology. Today, my research is mainly focusing onthe intersection of Sámi archaeology and global historical archaeology by the studyof Sámi settlements in southern Scandinavia from the mediaeval to the modernperiod. I also work on matters related to ecological and social sustainabilityin and around Sápmi during the early modern period. Among my recent books are TheScandinavian Early Modern World: A Global Historical Archaeology (2020),and Mellan medeltid och modernitet. En introduktion till historiskarkeologi från senmedeltid till idag (2021).

I received myPh.D. in archaeology at Stockholm University in 2005, became docent in historicalarchaeology at Lund University in 2013, and full professor in 2025. I have along experience from both contract archaeology and the cultural heritage managementsector from the National heritage board and the Swedish National Museum of Antiquities.
