Course
Course 15 credits • ARKN24
Would you like to learn to use digital tools to find ancient settlements and remains? This course shows how you can use maps, data and technology to analyse landscapes from an archaeological perspective.
In this course, you will learn how to use geographic information systems (GIS) – digital tools that help you collect, collate, and analyse spatial information. You will learn how to handle different types of data from instruments and sensors such as total stations, GPS, LiDAR and photogrammetry.
Through practical exercises, you will learn to understand spatial patterns, perform network analysis and interpret land and resource use in order to convey how people have lived and moved in the landscape.
