Department of Archaeology and Ancient History

The Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology | Lund University

My research about the vikingage food culture stems from a long interest in the history of food, tastes and how food culture influences and is influenced by the world at large.

Beside my research I have been running a small company within the same field, memento-past food, in which I give lectures, courses and in other ways work with food history.

About the research

My research is looking into the food culture of southern Scandinavian Viking Age. I am looking into both the ideological and practical sides of the culinary culture, which makes the thesis range from food depositions in burials to very hands-on studies of viking age cooking techniques.
