Exams at LUX

Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology

Here you can read about general examination rules that are applicable for students writing exams in the LUX-centre. We also recommend that you read department specific instructions about exams.

There are different forms of examination, such as written exams, oral exams, take-home exams and papers, etc. The rules for written exams can be found here. For oral exams, take-home exams and papers: follow the relevant lecturer’s instructions carefully for each exam!

For each examination there will be a regular session, a re-take session and a secondary re-take.

Some written examinations are held in premises outside LUX. In that case, the location will be specified in your timetable. Find out in good time where your exams are to take place. Remember that valid photo ID is required to take part in written examinations. Please visit our Swedish webbpage for more information about our examination rules.

Cheating and plagiarism

Pursuant to the Higher Education Ordinance (Chapter 10, Section 1) disciplinary measures can be taken against students who ”use prohibited aids or other methods to attempt to deceive during examinations or other forms of assessment of study performance”. This means that the University has the right to suspend a student for a short or long period of time, and to notify the student finance organisation CSN, if the following rules are violated:

If you quote from books, other students’ texts, internet texts and suchlike, you MUST always clearly state your source. It is NEVER permitted simply to copy other people’s texts and present them as your own writing!

In the case of written exams, take-home exams and similar assignments, always follow the instructions provided concerning any authorised aids (usually none at all) and other information you get from invigilators and lecturers.
